Tai's Second Birthday

Tai turned two on Saturday. We celebrated on Pier 39 in San Francisco, first touring the San Francisco Bay Aquarium, then having lunch at the Fish Market. Next we sat Tai down for one of those big-headed caricature drawings, which we thought turned out really well! Finally, Tai enjoyed a merry-go-round ride. At night, we headed to the Ting's place for dinner. We didn't throw Tai a traditional birthday party this year. We're still exhausted from Hawaii, as strange as that sounds. But he'll get a good one in LA next month.

Opening gifts on his birthday morning. He got books from Hawaii and a doll from Japan from Mia. The doll comes with a food kit so Tai can feed the baby.

The weather was beautiful by Pier 39.

A school of anchovies greeted Tai at the San Francisco Bay Aquarium.

These jellyfish were just one of many cool exhibits at the aquarium.

The tunnels at the aquarium allow you to see the sharks and other fish swim by really up close.

How old are you Tai? . . . Unlike at Christmas time, Tai loved this merry-go-round. He sat on about six animals before choosing to ride on this horse.

The finished portrait of Tai. We've always seen these drawings being done, but never thought to buy one. We like it!

Watching TV with friends.

Blowing out two candles atop the mint chocolate cupcake we made for Tai.
