Stopping by Pismo Beach

As you can see in the previous two entries, we stopped by Torrance for the weekend, in part to celebrate Gavin's birthday. Before we hit Torrance, though, we stopped at Pismo Beach for a night. What a beautiful place!

And now here are some more pics from the rest of the trip.

It's as if Tai has boundless energy when he's at his grandparents' house.

He's allowed to put toys anywhere and everywhere! Better there than at home.

Let's Go to Lake Tahoe

We decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Tahoe last Friday evening. Didn't know where we'd stay. What we'd do. But we were determined to have fun! And we did have lots of fun in the snow!

We stopped in the city of Roseville Friday night and stayed at a random hotel, before hitting the road again and having lunch at the popular Ikeda's restaurant and market. After that, we found a lovely lodge right by the lake. Cedar Glen Lodge was near a winter park that featured all-day sledding, a real highlight of the trip. We can't wait to go back.

After veering off course the first two runs down, Daddy and Tai got the hang of sledding and made it smoothly down the track. It was just fast enough to make each run exciting!

When we weren't sledding, Tai was working on snowballs.

Sunday morning, we took a walk along the frozen shore of the lake.

Mommy, Kenji, and Tai checked out a pier along the way.

Kenji Tips Scale

At his 2-month checkup, Kenji weighs in at 13 lbs., 10 oz., and measures 24 inches long. That's 90-95th percentile in height, and off the charts in weight. (For comparison, Tai weighed 14 lbs., 7 oz.... when he was 4 months old.)

Happy New Year 2011

We rang in the new year with a little bit of photo taking fun. As an added bonus, we stayed up to watch Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve, which featured a reunion of New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys. Surprisingly, the bands still had it, and looked better than when they were kids. That made Mommy and Daddy feel better about the years passing by.
