Christmas Break 2012

Christmas break 2012 saw us go to Torrance and San Diego to spend time with Grandma and Papa and friends.

On the drive down, we stopped at the Fresno Zoo.

Where saw the seal and sea lions, and learned the difference between the two.

It was an overcast day, so we saw most of the zoo in an hour or so. Giraffes, tiger, flamingos, elephants and a gorilla sign for Tai.

When we made it to Torrance, Papa had several cuts of sashimi waiting for us, and ikura for the kids!

Grandma happy to have Kenji sitting nearby.

They took us to a sushi restaurant with sushi on two conveyor belts.

When Daddy makes onigiri, the rice sticks to Tai and Kenji's fingers.

Mommy likes going to the Korean BBQ place.

Christmas Eve service, and Kenji prefers to read the Bible than sing from the hymnal.

Big presents.

Kenji's gift to Papa -- a calendar.

With a bow on top.

Two bows.

What Santa left.

The favorite gift -- the excavator.

Kenji on his new wheels.

Group shot of cousins on Christmas night.

Kyle and Marisa are very good to Kenji.

Family.

Kenji and Tai didn't want to let James go.

The boys attack Papa.

The day after Christmas, we left for San Diego to see SeaWorld.

In the jaws of a shark.

Shamu was amazing!

Trying on 3-D glasses for "The Polar Express."

Thu and Tai inside the "polar bear cave."

Getting through family dinner at the hotel.

Taking a stroll on the marina.

Looks like dancing, but he's pointing at a helicopter.

Tai taking his new scooter for a ride.

A fun visit with Uncle Gary and family. Popping noisemakers outside.

The kids inside.

We got to meet Olivia finally.

D.E.A.R. Day

I got to spend a couple hours in Tai's kindergarten class for Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Day, which involved kids in pajamas listening to books while lying in sleeping bags, some acting out of scenes from Caps For Sale, and parent reading.

Berkeley Snow Day

Berkeley shipped in two tons of snow for the city kids to play in. Tai went with Oliver, and the got to build a (little) snowman.

Day at the (AT&T) Park

Tai with his old preschool buddies at the Giants game.

At bat in the mini park.

Taking off for first base.
The "professional" photo.

Racing home.

Tai and Laura.

Way up high!

Then down low, on the field to run the bases! What a fun day!
