A very good read.Call it the picture that never quits. Not only did the shot of Tai smiling in front of the TV after an Obama victory last year make the rounds on the blogosphere, Tai's famous baby photo is now on the cover of a book. The book, by John Delloro, is titled american prayer: online meditations on asian america, obama, and self. The author found the photo through our mutual friend, Oiyan.
The book itself is a wonderful read. Thanks to John for sending us a hardcover copy. I'm 1/3 through it and it's a very insightful look at the Democratic primary race from the viewpoint of someone who's a labor organizer and an Asian American father. The book is a collection of John's online essays for the Asian American Action Fund, a Democratic national political organization whose commentaries on the 2008 presidential race were awarded archival status by the US Library of Congress. There are a lot of great questions raised (not only about what the future holds, or how we'll shape it, but also when looking back at the primaries, "Just what the heck was Hillary thinking?"). I can't wait to finish this book!
