His life begins, and so does this blog

Tai is two weeks old now, and he's given his parents (and grandparents, aunt, uncles, and friends) plenty of joy.

His main challenge in life right now is to gain some weight. We go to the doctor's office this afternoon for another weigh-in.

He's definitely been eating more the past few days. We switched to feeding him with the bottle every two hours, using a hospital-grade breast pump.

UPDATE: Tai is back up to 6 lbs., 6 oz., a gain of 6 oz. from three days ago. Yeah.

One of the ironies of his weight gain is that as happy as we are that he's growing, we're already worrying about him growing up too quickly. He'll be walking and running before we know it. Having him fall asleep on our chests has been one of the enjoyable moments the past few weeks, as have been his funny faces, his smiles, his sticking out his tongue to mimic us, even his projectile stools on the changing table in the middle of a diaper change.
