Japantown Vacation

Tai loves hotels.

Thanks to Thu's surplus of frequent flyer miles from American Airlines, which she no longer flies, we got a free night's stay at Hotel Tomo in SF Japantown this past weekend. Hotel Tomo was recently redone with a J-Pop theme, thus the painting of the rainbow-striped deer and its pink intestines on our wall.

It was pretty relaxing walking around Japantown, eating off the sushi boats at Isobune, then retiring to our room. As a bonus, we were there during the Cherry Blossom Festival and got to listen to taiko drumming and R&B bands, buy souvenirs, and eat imagawayaki. We never thought to vacation right across the bay in San Francisco, but it turned out great!

Hello, Kitty!

Tai was happy to see our hip hotel room.

Got to have a gelato-filled crepe while in J-Town.
